FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Thalwil, Switzerland - April 1st, 2016 - Loriot is expanding its public LoRaWAN server infrastructure to the Americas area.
Loriot is expanding its public server offering to the Americas area. After successfully adapting its network server for the European region with a server based in Frankfurt and for the Asia Pacific region with 3 servers based in Singapore, China and Australia, now Loriot announces a server based in California, USA. The server is compliant with the US variant of the LoRaWAN specification for the 915MHz band (902 MHz to 928 MHz). Loriot is now active in more than 65 countries on 6 continents. In all of the countries it provides solutions matching specific local ISM radio regulations, working ahead of the LoRaWAN standard specification to meet the market need for LoRaWAN.
"The US market presents a sizable opportunity for LoRaWAN private servers. We made significant efforts during the last months to adapt our network server to the US territory" said Vit Prajzler, CEO of Loriot, "our partners and clients in the US, Canada, Latin and South America will now be able to test the LoRa technology and hardware with our freemium account and migrate easily to the commercial account for Proof of Concept projects and large-scale deployments. For LoRaWAN deployments with a need for SLAs, guaranteed availability, full system control and highest standards of security, we are now ready to offer US-based single-tenant managed services, and the option of software licensing for on-premise deployments." he added.
This announcement brings a unique opportunity for accelerated roll-outs of LoRaWAN networks within the US. "After an outstanding start in Europe and Asia / Pacific in 2015, we now face a strong demand for our LoRaWAN solution in the US and the LATAM region. The US server deployment is a natural first step to address this demand" said Julian Studer, COO of Loriot. The low cost of the network infrastructure (mainly the gateways) and the general, royalty-free availability of the frequency spectrum used by LoRaWAN allow private companies to roll-out their own networks and applications. Loriot's solution and its flexibility and on-demand customization is a perfect tool to facilitate the private network deployments.
